I can’t say enough good things about Dr Cayden and the hygienist Kim who my 5 year old daughter saw. They were absolutely lovely. She had seen a dentist when she was 2 and I hadn't taken her to a yearly appointment so she hadn’t seen one in 3 years. I felt terrible about that but they were so kind and reassuring and made zero judgements about that which I really appreciated! My daughter is very shy and was anxious about the dentist because of stories she heard from friends at school and so I was worried how the appointment would go and if she would even let them near her let alone let them look in her mouth. However Kim and Dr Cayden made my daughter feel at ease and she stood beautifully for her X-rays and she was easily willing to let Dr Cayden look at her teeth. They made it fun and were calm and happy which made her calm and happy. They gave her loads of praise and encouragement. She got a token for the amazing prize machine which she was over the moon about. It is a very fun way to end the appointment and gave her a big encouragement to do as the dentist asked. I can’t recommend Atlantic Dental and Dr Cayden enough. It’s also very conveniently located inside the Halifax Mall so there is lots of free parking. Park outside the entrance for Starbucks and you’ll see doors to an office space across the hall from Starbucks (near the shoe shop) and they are on the 2nd floor. My only suggestion would be for the office to have a bathroom available for patients in the office because the bathroom is out by the elevator and I didn’t want to leave my daughter alone in the office and go all that way so I had to wait until after the appointment to pee which was a bit inconvenient. Not the end of the world. I will just remember to pee before going in next time but it would be wonderful to have a more easily accessible bathroom for kids and parents. Thank you again Dr Cayden and Kim! We will be seeing you every year with Sophie no question!

I met with Dr.Brandon Lee on Friday (1/17) and he took a look stating I needed a tooth pulled and also a root canal. I have always had a terrible fear of dentists. I don’t know why or where that fear came from but the anxiety literally makes me shake and sweat and Dr Lee could see how anxious I was. He was so caring went at my pace and talked me through everything that he was doing. Today I went in for the root canal and tooth extraction. I am so happy to say I’m now pain free (mostly except for recovery) but Dr Lee was so gentle and stopped when I needed a break and talked me through every step of the way. I will be going back to him for every appt I need for a dentist. He made me trust him as a dentist and that’s huge.. anyway. If you need a good gentle trustworthy dentist for sure dr Lee at Atlantic Dental is where you need to go!

I have been a patient of Dr. Snook for nearly 40 years so when my 2 year old daughter fell on Wednesday evening breaking her front tooth it was a no-brainer on who to call. I called first thing Thursday morning & she was seen by Dr. Lee at 230 that afternoon. Dr. Lee was so incredible with her! She had pictures and x-rays. He was not only able to smooth out her sharp broken tooth he was able to fill and fix it right then as well! He was so patient and kind with her — I really cannot say enough about our experience. My daughter is usually very nervous when it comes to strangers but she held Dr. Lee’s hand as we walked out of the office! We are very grateful to the team at Atlantic Dental for getting her in so quickly and taking such wonderful care of our daughter. I really cannot recommend this practice highly enough

The office location at the Halifax Shopping Centre is perfect for me. Lots of free parking. I was reminded by a number of texts of my upcoming appointment. When I arrived I sent a text to let them know I was there and they let me know when to come to the office. This was good as I had no contact with other clients. My appointment was on time and the dental hygienist was very professional and thorough. She had my teeth feeling nice and clean and provided helpful advice on spots I was missing. I was also able to book my next appointment with her so again one stop service. In and out in a hour. Great job. Highly recommend them. Mind you I have been going here for over 20. Years. I might be a bit bias but I do keep coming back. Lol.

I have lived in Canada for a long time but I needed a Korean-speaking doctor. Today I finally met him. The Korean dentist I met was incredibly kind and professional. He extracted my tooth painlessly and showed it to me explaining everything thoroughly. He was very gentle and explained each step including when he administered the anesthesia. He reassured me by saying things like "This might hurt a bit but you're doing great." His approach made me feel very comfortable and well cared for. I am extremely grateful for his kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend this dentist to anyone especially those who may have language difficulties. Thank you so much! My implant screw became loose and I had discomfort I visited so many dentists in Halifax no one able to tell me what is the exact problem and they don't have proper tools to fix it as this implant was done in India so no doctor in Halifax has tools similar to my implant. Finally I decided to meet dentists in Atlantic Dental care and Doctor Lee was very professional and calm and explained what is the problem and even he took his senior doctor opinion on my implant and referred to the specialist for surgery as my implant failed. Thanks Doctor Lee for explaining everything in detail which no dentist has done in my last 6 months.

I had recently switched dentists due to some issues with my previous dentist administrative staff. I was in for a cleaning yesterday and so far so good the staff are friendly the young woman that did my x-rays was very peppy and didn’t waste time at all she got them done in record timing. Dominika who ended up doing my cleaning was very good as well I had quite a bit of buildup so it was a little bit painful but she was very good in mitigating that. Plus it’s in a convenient location with lots and lots of parking based on my experience I would recommend it to others

I could not be happier with Dr. Snook and his team. After avoiding the dentist for at least a decade I found Dr. Snook in 2011 and I immediately knew I was in good hands. He has always been kind and relaxed. I've just had my third crown done and I love the way my smile looks! Dental hygienist Shauna is also incredibly kind and reassuring. I always enjoy catching up with her. There is good reason that she is booked out well in advance! I'm so glad I found this clinic. They have helped me feel comfortable and confident going to the dentist again.

This being my yearly check up 9 I began with getting my teeth cleaned with Dominique. She is amazing chatty and very good at what she does! She puts me at ease right away with her friendly personality. Almost forgot she did some xrays before my cleaning! Then Dr Power came and examined my teeth. He reported I had a cavity and needed it to be taken care of! He has such a wonderful and kind way about him. I booked it for the next week and got it done! No concerns at all really in and out! I would and have recommended this clinic to others.

This was a hygienist appointment and also an exam with the dentist. Although I have been going to this practice for many years both people were brand new to me as was the receptionist! My cleaning was done with the upmost care and I felt any concerns I had were addressed. The dentist's exam was also great and I felt understood and we discussed next steps. Both people knew their stuff and I was anxious going in but very happy when I left. The girls at the reception desk were great as well! Overall a wonderful experience.

Our Dentists

Dr Galen Snook

General Dentist

Dr. Snook is a graduate of Dalhousie University receiving a Bachelor of Science in 1981 and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1985.

Dr. Snook set up practice in the Halifax Shopping Centre in 1986 and has been serving patients in the area for over 20 years. He works cooperatively with his patients to maximize the health, comfort and longevity of their teeth. Proper patient dental care is always his priority.

Dr. Snook is married with two children, Ben and Ellen. He is a huge hockey fanatic and is active playing gentlemen’s hockey. In the summer, he enjoys spending time at his cottage with family and friends.
Dr Heather Carr

General Dentist

Dr. Carr enjoys providing all aspects of family dentistry to her patients including implants and general dentistry. She is fortunate to work with a great team, and together they strive to provide excellent, comprehensive dental treatment in a caring environment.

Dr. Carr graduated from Dalhousie Dentistry in 1988 winning the University Medal and a Gold D. She received a Bachelor of Science Honors in Psychology and the University Medal from the University of Kings College in 1984.

She actively pursues ongoing education including membership in the East Coast Endodontic Study Club and the Canadian Academy of Restorative and Prosthodontic Dentistry. Dr. Carr is Past President and member of the Halifax County Dental Society.

Dr. Carr has been active in organized Dentistry since entering dental school. She served, as the Nova Scotia member on the Canadian Dental Association Board from 2015 and is a Past-President of the Nova Scotia Dental Association. Her term as NSDA CDA Board Representative ended in April, 2021 when she was elected CDA Vice President. Her term as CDA President begins April, 2023.

Dr. Carr received the NSDA Volunteer of the Year Award in 2005, the NSDA Award of Excellence in 2015 and the Dr. Philip S. Christie Distinguished Service Award in 2021. She was named a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Dr. Carr is a lifelong resident of Fall River and the proud mother of Dr. Chelsea Carr Kinnear (a Chiropractor in Fall River) and Dr. Evan Carr Kinnear (an Associate Dentist at Atlantic Dental Centre). Dr. Carr spends her free time golfing, downhill skiing, enjoying fine arts and travelling with her partner, John. During the summer she kayaks with the Cheema Masters. Dr. Carr is active in the community and is a past executive member of the Cheema Board of Directors.
Dr Angela Vander Baaren

General Dentist

Dr. Angela Vander Baaren graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie Dental School in 2015 after completing a Bachelor of Science from Saint Francis Xavier University, and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry.

She is a member of the East Coast Endodontic Study Club where she continues to learn about endodontic techniques with hands-on continuing education.

Angela was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. She is married to her best friend from high-school and spends her free time running, knitting, and visiting her family in the Annapolis Valley.
Dr Gregory Power

General Dentist

Meet Dr Greg Power, an experienced and passionate dentist who is a part of our practice on Monday’s. He is a graduate of the DDS program at Dalhousie University in 2010 and has been full time faculty at his alma matter since 2020. His nearly 20 years in the field of dentistry has allowed him to develop robust skills across all areas of practice and he feels confident he can meet the needs and expectations of all people that he treats.

Growing up, Dr Power had a keen interest in dentistry as well as education – sometimes his young imaginative mind would play dentist and others he’d play school – and educating the next generation of dentists has been the perfect blend of his earlier aspirations.

Dr Power is an avid curler, enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends at every chance possible.
Dr Aurelien Mallaisy

General Dentist

Dr. Aurelien Mallaisy grew up in the north of France. He graduated from the University of Dental Medicine of Reims (France) in 2012, and caried on with a post-graduate degree from the dental faculty of Paris in 2013.

He has been practicing general dentistry ever since : first in France, until 2018 when he moved to Canada with his wife and son, then in Quebec for three years, and for the last two years in Nova Scotia.

Passionate about dentistry, and very attentive to his patients, Dr. Mallaisy knows how to put them at ease, and relies on his experience to provide them with high quality care.

He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and offers a full range of treatments, from basic treatments to more complex treatments such as root canals or wisdom tooth extractions.
Dr Cayden Lee

Dr. Cayden (Ming Hao) Lee is a dedicated and compassionate dentist committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred dental care.

Born and raised in Malaysia, Dr. Lee began his dental training at the International Medical University in 2019 and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University in 2024. His diverse training background has equipped him with a broad skill set, enabling him to offer quality care across all areas of dentistry.

Dr. Lee takes pride in offering a range of dental services, including Invisalign, extractions, root canal treatment, and esthetic dentistry. With a patient-first approach, he ensures that every treatment plan is tailored to each individual’s needs, combining technical precision with a warm, empathetic approach to care. His dedication to continuing education and adopting the latest advancements in dentistry reflects his drive to provide the best outcomes for his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lee enjoys playing badminton, baking, and experimenting in the kitchen. He also enjoys spending time with his two kittens, Whiskey and Kiwi, who bring joy and energy to his life.
